In the workshop…

After a very enjoyable Christmas break, I’m once again in the workshop!

I realised today I’ve not updated my website for many months – I’ve been putting a lot of hours into piano work, and just haven’t had time to add pictures to the site. One of my new year resolutions is to keep the website ticking over a bit better…

New bass bridge…

New maple bass bridge blank completed, seen here next to the old bridge on the bandsaw. Notice the new bridge is a few millimetres taller than the old one – this is to give me some material to play with when setting up the bearing a little later in the rebuild.

Style-X…

After far too long in storage, my 1909 Blüthner Style-X ( 7’6″/228cm) was put back on its feet! I played it for about 10 minutes before the “teardown” process began…

Have a look under the “Current” heading for what’s going on at the moment.
