Re-fitting the keys to the keyframe. It’s very important to make sure the keys move properly, so each bushing will be eased or tightened to ensure frictionless movement, but without any slack. It’s a fine balance…!

    Fantastic website! I have a 1919 Style X that is being restored now.

    How did you get the key sticks to look like new? Did you bleach the wood as well?

      Thanks Joshua! The ivory on the keys was bleached, but the woods were just sanded – if you do it carefully, they look great!
